How do parents speak with their children about race? For one Los Angeles mother, the conversation started when her African American sons, aged 7 and 10, were subjected to racial slurs by random children on the street and kids in class. Madeleine Brand spoke with GOOD magazine writer, Liz Dwyer about her own experiences and how parents of all racial backgrounds can deal with questions surrounding race and racism.
