When Mark Peel and Nancy Silverton opened it in 1989, Campanile was revolutionary. Now it's de riguer for a restaurant to serve food bought fresh at the farmer's market that morning. Today we learned that the iconic LA restaurant on LaBrea is closing at the end of November. Mark Peel told KPCC's John Rabe it was a good run, but business just never picked up after the economy tanked.
