California's Salinas Valley is known as the world's salad bowl, with rows of vegetables as far as the eye can see.

Farm workers there are often undocumented migrants searching for a better life for their family in the U.S.

The PBS documentary "East of Salinas" explores the struggles facing the children of undocumented workers and one teacher's efforts to help them.

Take Two's A Martinez spoke with Oscar Ramos about how his own experiences as the son of migrant workers in Salinas  shaped his decision to teach.

East of Salinas airs on PBS tonight at 10pm
