Many know the story of Jackie Robinson ... he integrated Major League Baseball in 1947, but few know the names Kenny Washington and Woody Strode, Bill Willis and Marion Motley
In 1946 these four African American athletes broke the color barrier in pro football.
Washington and Strode signed with the Los Angeles Rams, Willis and Motley with the Cleveland Browns.
The new book, "Lost Champions: Four Men, Two Teams and The Breaking of Pro Football's Color Line", traces this history and tells the largely unknown story.
A Martinez talked with the author, Gretchen Atwood.
