Blue Shield and Governor Newsom
Initially, the process of getting shots into the arms of Californians didn’t go smoothly. So the state pulled in Blue Shield to be a third-party administrator back in January. The problem is County health officials haven’t been exactly eager to team up with the insurance provider. In fact, only one county out of 58 entered into an agreement. So how did Blue Shield score a no-bid, $15 million dollar contract to oversee California’s vaccine distribution?
