As a teenager in Singapore, Sandi Tan and a couple of friends made a quirky experimental movie with the help of an American film instructor, but he absconded with the footage. Twenty years later, she got a tip that set her on a path to find the footage. She chronicles her search in the documentary, "Shirkers."
