Movie Madness In The Mountains

(Starts at 00:45)

John Horn is headed to the Telluride Film Festival, which coincides with the Venice Film Festival, and those two events pave the way for Academy Award hopefuls. John chats with guest host Steven Cuevas about the Telluride lineup.

Making Her Own Way

(Starts at 7:46)

R&B singer Snoh Aalegra has been in the music industry for nearly 20 years. She’s collaborated with some of the biggest names in hip hop and R&B, including Drake, Vince Staples, Common and RZA. Prince was one of her mentors. And she's done all that at just 31 years of age. She’s wasn't the typical child prodigy — Aalegra grew up in Sweden, the daughter of Iranian immigrants. But those early experiences shape the sound of her latest record, “Ugh, Those Feels Again.” She talks about her career with guest host Steven Cuevas.

Finding The Spirit In The Music

Ambient Church is pretty much what it sounds like: atmospheric, chill-out music performed inside houses of worship. They’re part concert, part light show, part communal art experience. Ambient Church provides a rare home for those who love and create this esoteric minimalist music. The Frame’s Paul Ratliff went to a recent show and has our story.
