The Trouble With Being A Hollywood 'Assistant'

While the rape and sexual assault trial of Harvey Weinstein is underway in New York, a movie largely inspired by stories of working for the disgraced movie mogul is headed to Sundance, and then to theaters. The film, titled "The Assistant," stars Julia Garner as a lowly assistant to a Weinstein-type tyrant who's got the whole office doing his bidding, which includes keeping a stash of syringes to treat his erectile dysfunction. Australian filmmaker Kitty Green based the script on interviews she conducted with people working in the film industry.
